Career fairs can be an overwhelming experience for students, especially those who have never attended one or adequately prepared for the experience. The Career Center will hold the Career & Internship Fair during the fall and spring semesters. This fair includes 200+ employers from a variety of industries (i.e., technology, business, nonprofit, government, etc.) and will be recruiting students for internships, part-time, and full-time opportunities. Whether a student is looking to pursue a career/internship opportunity or just wanting to practice their networking skills, the career fair is a fabulous way for students to connect with professionals.
As a career collaborator, we invite you to Register to be a Faculty & Staff Career Fair Navigator at our fall and/or spring fairs, bringing your students to the event and helping them navigate their interactions with employers.
Career Fair Navigators will:
- Bring their students to the fall or spring Career & Internship Fair anytime between 10 AM - 2 PM
- Be present during their chosen timeframe to help students navigate which employers to talk with, what to say, what to ask, etc.
- Support students who are nervous and need emotional/social support to engage with employers
- Meet employers, learn about organizations and opportunities, and build connections for future collaborations
Career Fair Navigators will receive:
- Training on the career fair, employers attending, and how to support students' navigation of the fair
- Support from the Career Center when they arrive with their students to the fair
- Breakfast and/or lunch prior to or after their navigator shift
- Student attendance data after the fair, showcasing which of their students attended
If you have questions about becoming a Career Fair Navigator, please reach out to Dr. Suzanne Voigt for more information. We look forward to collaborating with you on this exciting initiative!
