Career Treks

Career Treks provide Charlotte students and alumni with an opportunity to explore careers, employers, and industries through a “behind the scenes” in-person or virtual manner. In doing so, employers have a unique opportunity to increase awareness of their brand and internship and full time opportunities. The Career Center is available to support faculty, staff and campus departments who want to facilitate their own Career Trek experiences outside of what is offered by the Career Center each semester.

  • Career Center Consultation - we will offer one Career Trek strategy session with the Career Treks Program Manager and one operations/logistics meeting with the Experiential Education Support Coordinator with the department per Trek. This meeting should take place at least 4-6 weeks prior to the desired Career Trek.
  • Employer engagement contacts - we can help connect departments with possible Career Trek employer hosts on an as needed basis. Ideally, we would need to know the semester prior to your Trek but will do our best to aid in employer connectivity during the semester if time allows.
  • Some funding for local Career Treks transportation costs may be available on a case by case basis. Contact the Career Treks Program Manager if funding is needed.
  • Career Treks administrative support - we offer the option to run registration for your Career Trek through Hire-a-Niner. Marketing and communication templates are available in addition to a how-to guide for coordinating a Career Trek, which will also include details on arranging transportation.
