Recruit with Us

UNC Charlotte’s Career Center facilitates connections with our students and employers to meet your hiring needs. Several recruiting and branding opportunities are available virtually or in person. Our Industry Specialists are available to discuss recruiting strategies to support your current and future needs. Please email us at recruit@charlotte.edu and a member of our Employer Engagement team will follow up.

Industry-Focused Meet Ups

These 30-45 minute employer-led sessions typically consist of 15-20 minutes of content on a topic from your industry, 10 minutes about your organization, and 10-15 minutes of Q+A. While we can do these in a virtual or in-person format, our students indicate that meet ups done virtually, is their preferred format.

Intended for employers to use their expertise to engage students in a conversation, which will aid them in their professional or career development.

  • Lead a professional development topic of your choice and brand your organization in one, 30-45 minute session with a small group of students.
  • Industry-Focused Meet Ups generally take place Monday-Thursday at Noon and 4 p.m.

To sign up to lead a Industry-Focused/Employer-Led Meet Up in Fall 2024, click here. Dates fill up quickly. Contact your Industry Specialist for more information.

Pro Tip: Attendance at Meet Ups is greater when employers have internship and job opportunities posted in Hire-A-Niner.

Professional in Residence

Our Professionals in Residence program puts you directly in the Career Commons main lobby of the Career Center, where you will be our drop-in "resume expert" for the day. Provide industry and professional advice directly to students while building your brand with Charlotte students or to give back to Niner Nation as an alum!

All Professionals in Residence sessions take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. We generally have multiple slots available prior to large career fairs.

Pro Tip: It's helpful to have more than one person from each organization so that breaks are covered, etc. We have refreshments for employer participants including coffee, water, and snacks, as well as an Employer Lounge.

Once confirmed, you will be sent a calendar invite and directions by your Industry Specialist.

Questions? Please contact your Industry Specialist or recruit@charlotte.edu.

Job Postings

Attract applicants for your co-ops, internships, and full-time and part-time positions by posting in Hire-A-Niner. Include the pay rate and a strong job description and detailed information about your company and its vision and mission to help candidates understand how their skills, interests, and values intersect with your organization. We do not allow postings of unpaid opportunities. To post your positions, please do so through your Hire-A-Niner account.

Pro Tip: Make sure your Employer Profile is updated in Hire-A-Niner and include videos, if available.

Micro-Internships

The Career Center at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte partners with Parker Dewey to provide an innovative way for employers to connect with our highly-motivated students and recent grads through micro-internships.

Micro-Internships are short-term, paid professional projects designed to serve as a bridge to future employment opportunities. These short-term projects create equitable access to professional careers and are similar to those projects given to new hires or interns.

Whether you're in need of on-demand project support, looking for a win-win to connect with students from your alma mater, or looking for ways to get work done with an ever-growing to-do list, micro-internships can be a valuable tool. These projects enable our students to demonstrate skills, explore career paths, and build their networks, gaining valuable experience.

Unlike traditional internships, micro-internships can take place year-round, typically range from 5 to 40 hours of work, and are due between one week and one month after the project kickoff. The majority of the micro-internships are virtual.

Contact Parker Dewey to get started.

Information Sessions

If you would like to host an information session, we strongly suggest that you have positions posted in Hire-A-Niner and do virtually, unless your organization has a "household name." Requests for information sessions can be made through your Hire-A-Niner account.

Pro Tip: Attendance at Information Sessions is greater when employers have internship and job opportunities posted in Hire-A-Niner.
