The Career Skills Curriculum Integration Academy is a faculty development program designed to help instructors embed career readiness into their courses in meaningful and discipline-aligned ways. Rooted in research from NACE and other workforce studies, this Academy provides faculty with practical strategies to bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace expectations.
Through a series of interactive modules, faculty will explore how to:
- Clearly communicate career skills in course messaging and design.
- Align assignments with skills that translate to career success.
- Engage students in purposeful conversations about the why behind their coursework.
- Integrate career education without adding extra assignments or generic referrals to the Career Center.
- Foster deeper connections between academic content and students' career pathways.
Each module includes research-based insights, reflection activities, and hands-on exercises that empower faculty to rethink their pedagogy, refine their assignments, and enhance student awareness of career skills. By the end of the Academy, participants will have a concrete plan to integrate career skills into their teaching in ways that are both seamless and impactful.
