Career Integration Academy

The Career Integration Academy is a faculty development program designed to help instructors embed career readiness into their courses in meaningful and discipline-aligned ways. Rooted in research from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), as well as other workforce studies, this Academy provides faculty with practical strategies to bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace expectations.

Through a series of interactive modules, faculty will explore how to:

  • Clearly communicate career skills in course messaging and design.
  • Align assignments with skills that translate to career success.
  • Engage students in purposeful conversations about the why behind their coursework.
  • Integrate career education without adding extra assignments or generic referrals to the Career Center.
  • Foster deeper connections between academic content and students' career pathways.

Each module includes research-based insights, reflection activities, and hands-on exercises that empower faculty to rethink their pedagogy, refine their assignments, and enhance student awareness of career skills. By the end of the Academy, participants will have a concrete plan to integrate career skills into their teaching in ways that are both seamless and impactful.

  • Required 1-hour, in-person introduction training session at the Career Center
  • Asynchronous modules in Canvas to be completed within 3 months after introduction training session
  • Faculty who successfully complete the training and Canvas modules will be eligible to apply for up to $500 of Career Center funding through their Venture Fund to support career-related initiatives within their academic department
