Session 1: The Positivity Factor and your Career Advancement
- Research shows what we spend our time on becomes our reality…understanding what “meaning & purpose” are all about in the transition from the school environment to the workplace environment can help us determine a path forward for our studies, develop a stronger plan of action, and feel more confident in our decisions.
Session 2: DiscoverU!
- Take a deep dive with activities that help you understand your interests, ideas around what you value out of work, and how your personality and strengths play a role in career success.
Session 3: Professionals Panel - Impressions from the field
- Join this panel of professionals from the field as they talk about their own college experiences, advice they have to help you maximize your time and get experience, and how they made their career decisions.

- A continuation from the day before on putting this information to work for you while in college.
Session 2 &3: Career Community Panel of Professionals
- Students get the opportunity to join two different Career Community sessions to learn from professionals in the field and our Industry Specialists. Get to know the different aspects of these industries, trends in the field, and what you need to do to prepare to be a strong candidate.
Session 1: The Recruiter Experience
- This interactive experience will require YOU to be the recruiter! As part of a small team, you will be tasked with reviewing resumes to determine which candidates to move forward in the process. This experience will help you understand how recruiters process resumes and candidates while providing you with tips and strategies to ensure you are building a strong brand at Charlotte.
Session 2: The Charlotte Model
- Now that you have experienced what hiring managers are looking for, this activity will be about the introduction of The Charlotte Model. During this time, you will go through a series of activities to “shop around” the university for things you want to try out. You will start to build out your 2-year action plan of clubs/organizations, experiences, and other things to build your profile.
Session 3: Building Social Capital through Networking
- A panel of professionals from the field will talk about why we should care about meeting people, building a network, and the best ways to do this that works for you!
Session 1: Your Career Action Plan
- Within your Career Community of interest, you will continue the work on building your action plan for the first couple of years of your college experience.
Session 2: Channels of Experiential Learning
- We are bringing together a team from across campus to talk about the many ways you can gain experience while in college to include internships and coops, research, study abroad, community engagement, and entrepreneurship.
CareerCRAFT Conference
- You will get to chose from a series of tailored sessions facilitated by professionals in the field, career center staff, and others. Topics will include career readiness, industry talks, and other strategies to make sure you are ready to fly in your first semester!
