International Career Exploration & Professional Branding in London, England 

This faculty-led study abroad program supports students in their personal career development on an international scale. The objective of the students’ experience is to prepare them to understand the complexity, challenges, and skill set acquisition and knowledge base necessary to successfully develop a strong career brand that corresponds to an international career landscape. This study abroad course focuses on London, England since it is one of the most diverse cities in the world with more than 300 languages spoken every day. Meeting the objectives of this course, successful students will demonstrate tactical knowledge to manage their career post-UNC Charlotte and beyond. Developing and practicing the core career competencies will contribute to the students’ overall career brand, confidence level around his/her/their career path, and connection to the targeted industries of choice. 

This 10-day study abroad adventure to London, England, is designed for sophomore, junior, and senior students from any major. This experience will provide an in-depth look at career exploration and professional branding in this multicultural and diverse city, expanding students’ perspectives and understanding of the dynamic workplace of the 21st century. Students will learn how to create their international professional brand, connect with local employers and experts in various industries, and research various employment trends in England in comparison to the United States. 

Explore this thriving and historic city known for famous landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, the British Museum, the Tower of London, Chinatown, the British Library, the National Gallery, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the Eye, Covent Garden, Harrods and Selfridges department stores, and more. Students who want to work and live abroad will find this study abroad experience extremely rewarding and beneficial for career exploration, connecting with various organizations and professionals, and for their understanding of other cultures and work environments.
