Amy Browns
Amy Browns builds strategic partnerships between employers and UNC Charlotte to create impactful experiential learning opportunities for students. She leads employer engagement efforts and focuses on the Engineering | Manufacturing | Energy and Technology | Data | Analytics career communities. In addition, Amy oversees academic credit for internships and co-ops, and the University Professional Internship Program (UPIP), which connects students to hands-on, internships within campus departments.
Amy brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in operations, marketing, and storytelling across the performing arts, education, and craft beverage sectors. Her professional journey has included roles in both secondary and higher education, and she taught event planning, marketing, and sales for eight years at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati State.
Amy's current work brings her career full circle — she first discovered her passion for higher education as a student intern in a program much like UPIP. That experience sparked her commitment to helping students gain the clarity, confidence, and connections they need to succeed in their career journeys. An Ohio native, Amy earned her master’s in business/arts administration and her bachelor’s in journalism and public relations from Ohio University. She enjoys yoga, traveling, and civic engagement.
