Transportation provided by the Career Center:
Meet Career Center staff 10 minutes prior to departure (10:50 am) at the intersection of University Road and Broadrick Blvd in front of Reese and Colvard (buildings 36 and 32 on the campus map). Our group will leave campus at 11:00 am and will return ~5:00 pm (pending traffic).
Make sure you review the campus map linked above with the pickup location before Friday morning so you know where you are going. American Airlines is expecting us to arrive on time, and we will not wait for you if you are late.
What to Bring:
- Government issued ID like a driver's license or passport. NOTE: Your UNC Charlotte ID is not a government issued ID. You must have a government issued ID in order to receive a gate ticket and get through the security checkpoint.
- Anything that can go through the security checkpoint
- Empty water bottle to fill up once past the security checkpoint
- NOTE: American Airlines will serve some light snacks, but it's strongly recommended to eat a meal before the event. Feel free to bring snacks with you. The Career Center will also have some snacks for the van ride.
Attire: Business Casual
- No jeans
- Wear comfortable shoes as we will be doing a lot of standing and walking
- Visit the Professional Clothing Closet if you need attire

The purpose of this Trek is to give students an inside look at the operations of the aviation industry through the lens of an airline operating at a major hub in Charlotte. Students will:

- 12:15 – 12:45 Get gate passes from counter and go through security
- 12:45 – 1:45 Ramp Tour (Aircraft pushback process)
- 1:45 – 2:00 Bag Room (ABR / Claim Belts)
- 2:00 – 2:15 Walk time
- 2:15 – 2:45 Tower Tour (Hub Control Center)
- 2:45 – 3:00 Break (snacks in conference room)
- 3:00 – 3:15 About CLT Hub Presentation
- 3:15 – 4:00 Career Conversations and Q&A
